You've Got A Friend In Me : )

Last Tuesday I took my two younger cousins; Elle and Lucy on the London Duck Tour. Having seen the Duck Tour for numerous years around the streets of London it was one of those things I really wanted to do.

We caught the number 15 bus to The Strand where we met Cerys, an old school friend. We walked to Covent Gardens and went to The Bear Factory. Before entering the shop I had to decide whether I was going to buy the girls a teddy each and whether they were able to buy clothes or shoes. A bloke caught our eyes as we turned the corner, he had a teddy on a lead dressed up and walking. This was the moment the girls helped me decide that I was going to buy them something.

The experience of building your own teddy was very exciting for Elle and Lucy and wonderful for me and Cerys to watch. The hard part was deciding on an outfit. I gave each of them a choice of either having a voice sound in their teddy or an item of clothing. Both decided to have clothing, well Elle decided and Lucy was influenced by her decision. We left the shop about an hour later with two teddies, two birth certificates, two box homes and two very happy children!

The walk to the Duck Tour was really fun, we strolled along the Southbank and saw the street entertainers, all of which were amazing and completely new and unique for my cousins. Lucy decided that she wanted to buy some gold paint to join this couple! Watch this space!

On arrival at the Duck Tour boarding station we could see yellow through the green leaves, which filled the girls with excitement. The tour lasted 70 minutes and took us all around central London. Elle took notes about the sights and listened carefully to the tour guide, whereas Lucy was less interested and I had to repeat the parts that were significant for a 5 year old. Before we went on the Thames the driver was swapped for the captain, this was the moment both Elle and Lucy were waiting for. The yellow duck bus/boat tipped slightly when it entered the water and took a little while to stabilize. We went along the Thames for a short period and back to the MI5 building where we started. This was the end of the tour, a very exciting, and different way to explore London.

After a really enjoyable day it made me realize how much I love London and how much there is to do. Today was just an eye opener for my cousins who saw a number of attractions for the very first time.

P.s I really wanted to add pictures but the draft I composed at home wouldn't come up at work and the pictures wouldn't come up at home! Help!!!!
